The character-based dialogs are functional equivalents of the graphical dialogs. They can be used to perform the functions of the Resource, Group, Event and the Launch/Status Manager dialogs without the requirement of an X environment.
Character dialogs should be run from a terminal window by users who have logged in to the Vantage host as vanmgr. Running any Vantage programs, either character or window based, as root will result in a disaster of biblical proportions. Do not run Vantage as root.
The programs are started by typing csystems, (for the Resource dialog) caliass, (for the Group dialog) cevents, (for the Event dialog) and claunch (for the Launch/Status Manager dialog). Refer to one of the areas below for an explanation of the controls on the dialogs.
