Refer to Using Vantage Dialogs to learn about Vantage dialogs. Each control on the dialog is explained in the text that follows.
TCP/IP Definition Dialog Controls
IP Address:
Required. This control is used to enter the IP address of the networked resource to which Vantage is to connect. Click the control and type the IP address in the form of nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn

Required. Use this control to select the type service Vantage will use to connect to the networked resource. Click to select a value other than the default.
telnet(Default) rlogin
Hostname:
Required for rlogin. Ignored for telnet. Use this control to specify the host name of the resource to which Vantage is to connect. Click the control and type the host name. Note: The Vantage workstation's /etc/hosts file must contain this host name and its corresponding IP address before a connection can be established.
Login:
Required for rlogin. Ignored for telnet. This control is used to specify the user name Vantage should use to login to the resource. The rlogin method prompts for a user password, which must be supplied by the person opening the console window. To automate the login the .rhosts file on the resource must be created/modified to accept a login from the Vantage console without requiring a password. Click the control and type the login name.
Click OK when all selections are complete. Click the Add button on the Resource Definition dialog to add the resource.
