Device File Resource Definition

Any serial port that has been installed as a device file can be monitored by Vantage. The figure below is the Device File resource connectivity Definition dialog.

A Device File resource is configured to have the Vantage software monitor a serial port that is represented in Unix as a device file. Vantage needs only the device file name and some key information about the serial port.
Refer to Using Vantage Dialogs to learn about Vantage dialogs. Each control on the dialog is explained in the text that follows.
