Perle Systems Network Setup Instructions
1. Connect a vt100 compatible terminal device to port one of the Perle terminal server. The terminal should be set to 9600 baud with data and parity set to 8 none and 1.


2. Connect the terminal server to the network and apply power to the server. Allow the box to remain on for at least 30 seconds to allow the server to boot. Press the button inside the back of the unit and hold for 15 seconds. You should see the bootstrap messages on the terminal device. Respond with the letter q and press Return.


3. At the prompt "Local login" respond with any character and press Return.


4. At the prompt "Local>" type set term vt100 and press Return.


5. When the screen stops changing press Return.


6. Using the arrow keys position the cursor on the choice Admin mode and press return.


7. Using the arrow keys position the cursor on the choice Password press Return, type iolan and press Return again.


8. Using the arrow keys position the cursor on the choice Server and press Return.


9. Using the arrow keys position the cursor on the choice IP address, enter the terminal server's IP address and press Return. Using the arrow keys place the cursor on the choice Save & Exit and press Return.


10. Using the arrow keys position the cursor on the choice Gateway, press Return, position the cursor below the choice Gateway, then type the Gateway address. Position the cursor below the choice Netmask and type the netmask for your network. Position the cursor on the choice Save & Exit and press Return.


11. Using the arrow keys position the cursor on the choice reboot, press Return and press the Space Bar to continue the reboot.
