Resource Individual Options Dialog Controls

The Resource Default Options Dialog is used to enable Console logging and set the size of the logs, set console buffer size, block certain escape codes and configure the resource to run in Window-less mode.
Values can either be set globally, through the Resource Default Options dialog or individually, through the Resource Individual Options dialog. Setting global default values will result in all resources added subsequent to setting the default values to be configured honoring the default values. It is recommended that the default values be set before you add resources.
If Default values are modified, existing resources will not be changed. The new default values will be in effect only for resources added after the change in default values. Existing resource values can be modified through the Resource Individual Options dialog by first executing a Find of the resource in the Resource Definition Dialog.

The Resource Definition's Options menu is shown here. Click to select either Default or Individual Options. Note to start the Resource Individual Options dialog you must first Find a resource.
The figure below is the Resource Individual Options Dialog. It is used to set values for individual resources. To set global values for all newly added resources use the Resource Default Options dialog.

Resource Individual Options Dialog Controls
Console Logging:
Default is Disabled. Controls Console logging for the resource. Clicking Enabled will make the Number of Logs and Size of a Log in Thousands controls sensitive to input. Click and hold the left mouse button and move the sliding controls to set the number of logs saved and the desired size of the logs.
Shared Console Buffer:
Default is Enabled. Users will see approximately 2 Kbytes of console output when obtaining a shared console. Click and hold the left mouse button and move the sliding control to change the size of the Console Buffer. Click Replay at Start of Share to turn off console buffering.
Block Esc Codes:
Default is Enabled. Certain escape codes are blocked from appearing in the resource's Vantage console window. Call Vantage Technical Support for information on adding to the default escape codes.
Window Created at Start of Resource:
Default mode is Window will NOT be created at start of resource. In this mode an X display is not required on the Vantage host. If the Vantage host has a default X display and a window is desired at resource startup, click the Window created at Start of Resource box. If the Vantage host does not have an X display you also must click the Windowless NED box on the Launch/Status Manager Preferences dialog box. Refer to The Launch/Status Manager for details. Click Add (or Modify, if appropriate) when all controls are as desired. Click Return to return to the previous dialog.
NED on at Start of Resource:
Default is that NED will not receive characters. When there are many resources all sending characters to the NED window it becomes a performance bottleneck to display all of those characters. It also makes the NED display difficult to read. This control tells Vantage whether to send characters to NED from this resource when the resource starts. You can turn NED on or off for each resource from the Monitor Status Dialog of the Launcher. Refer to The Launch/Status Manager for details.
