Initialize Terminal Server Dialog Controls


The resource Admin menu is used to initialize new TCP/IP terminal servers and to perform password maintenance on the servers.
The Admin menu has choices to perform functions in support of both Lantronix and Emulex terminal servers. Three dialogs can be started from the menu to enable changing passwords, updating passwords and initializing the server to work with Vantage. Each of these dialogs is explained below.

The Change Passwords Dialog is used to change the Service and Privileged passwords on all terminal servers on which resources have been defined. The following figure is the Change Passwords dialog.

Change Passwords Dialog Controls
Terminal Server:
Default is Lantronix. Click to select an Emulex terminal server.
Old Universal Service Password (access):
Enter the current password in this control. The default password is access if no previous changes have been made.
New Universal Service Password:
Enter the new password in this control.
Old Universal Privileged Password (system):
Enter the current password in this control. The default password is system if no previous changes have been made.
New Universal Privileged Password:
Enter the new password in this control.
Click OK when all controls are as desired. Click Cancel to cancel the change.
The Update Terminal Server dialog is used to selectively update the passwords on terminal servers on which resources have been defined. The following figure is the Update Terminal Server dialog.

Terminal Server:
Default is Lantronix. Click to select an Emulex terminal server.
Terminal Servers:
This control contains the IP address of all terminal servers on which resources have been defined. Click to select the IP address you wish to update. Press and hold the CTRL key and click IP addresses to select more that one address.
Box's Service Password (access):
Enter the current password in this control. The default password is access if no previous changes have been made.
Box's Privileged Password (system):
Enter the current password in this control. The default password is system if no previous changes have been made.
Click OK when all controls are as desired. Click Cancel to cancel the change.

The Initialize Terminal Server dialog is used to initialize and configure terminal servers to work with Vantage. The following figure is the Initialize Terminal Server dialog.

Terminal Server:
Default is Lantronix. Click to select an Emulex terminal server.
Terminal Server IP Address:
Enter the IP address of the terminal server to be initialized.
Box's Service Password (access):
Enter the current password in this control. The default password is access if no previous changes have been made.
Box's Privileged Password (system):
Enter the current password in this control. The default password is system if no previous changes have been made.
Server:
Scroll through the choices and click to select the model of terminal server to be initialized.
Port Configuration:
This control is used to omit or de-configure specific ports. The default of omit Serial Port - 1 is recommended as system messages from the terminal server are written to this port at boot time and may cause problems if a resource is connected to the port.
Click OK when all controls are as desired. Click Cancel to cancel the change.
