Configuring Events

An Event is any character stream that will be displayed on the console of a Vantage-managed resource or Group of resources. Events must match exactly the characters that will be displayed on the console.



Event definition is complete when the events have been distributed by selecting Distribute Events from the File menu of the dialog. A dialog box will appear that displays progress of the distribution process.

Each event to be detected must be configured in order for Vantage to know its characteristics. This task is accomplished through The Event Definition Dialog

To start the Event Definition dialog position the pointer on the Event Definition icon on the Vantage Admin sub-panel and click the left mouse button.




A click of the right mouse button on a resource or event response can be used to perform a Find action and to display the properties of a resource.
