

The Broker is responsible for executing event responses and is started automatically before resources' monitor and console processes are started.
The Broker can be started explicitly, if desired, by clicking the Start Broker button on the Launch/Status Manager. The Broker is stopped through the Launch/Status Manager by clicking the Stop Broker button. The Broker will stop only if there are no resources displayed in the Active Resource List.
Click the Broker Status button on the Launch/Status Manager dialog to display the Broker Status dialog. The figure below is a sample of the dialog.

The Broker Status dialog contains information pertinent to the current execution of the program.
# actions read
This field is the total number of actions read during the current execution of the program.
Broker Started
This field is the date and time the Broker was started.
Last action #
This is an internally maintained number that pertains to the last action logged by the Broker.
Last action read
This field is the date and time the last broker action was read.
There are two button controls on the dialog. Return closes the dialog and returns control to the Launch/Status Manager. Refresh reloads the most current the values into the Broker Status fields.
The Broker logs its actions to a file on the Vantage workstation. Access to this information can be obtained by running either the listawide or the listalog program. To get more detailed usage information for these programs see Vantage Utility Programs .
