Monitor Status Dialog Controls


The Monitor examines console output for user defined events. When an event is detected the Monitor passes event response information to the Broker to be executed.
A Monitor process is started automatically for each resource started from the Launch/Status Manager. Monitor status can be obtained for a resource by clicking the resource name in the Active Resource List then clicking the Monitor Status button. All actions taken on the Monitor Status dialog will take affect on the selected resource.
The figure below is a sample of the dialog.

The Monitor Status dialog contains fields similar to the Broker each field and control is explained below.
Monitor started
This field is the date and time that the Monitor was last started.
# characters read
This field is the total number of characters read since the Monitor started.
Last char read
This field is the date and time that the last console character was read.
# events detected
This field is the total number of events detected since the Monitor started. Last event detected
This is the date and time that the last event was detected.
Last event #
This field is an internally maintained number of the last event detected.
Monitor Status Dialog Controls
Detection ON/OFF
Default is Detection ON. Click Detection OFF to stop event detection on the resource. The resource's character stream is examined but defined events are not detected.
Response ON/OFF
Default is Response ON. Click Response OFF to stop execution of all event responses on the resource. The character stream is examined, defined events are detected but event responses are not executed.
Command ON/OFF
Default is Command ON. Click Command OFF to suppress the execution of Command event and Command with File event responses on the resource. The character stream is examined, defined events are detected but Command event and Command with File event responses destined for the resource will not be executed.
NED ON/OFF
Default is NED ON. Click NED OFF to stop the display of messages from this resource in the NED window.
Return
Closes the dialog and returns control to the Launch/Status Manager.
Refresh
Refreshes the values in the Monitor Status fields.
Send Xon/Send Xoff
Sends either Xon or Xoff to the Central Data connectivity resource selected in the Active Resource List control.
