Vantage Supports two new Terminal Servers
Vantage is now qualified to use Perle Systems and Xyplex terminal servers. Refer to Perle Systems Definition , or Xyplex Definition , for more information.
Health Scanning of Resources in Launch/Status Manager
Vantage now checks the process stack of each active resource to ensure that all processes are running. Resources found with one or more processes missing are flagged with (??) and moved to the Inactive Resource List. Refer to Launch-Status for more information.
Groups can contain unlimited Resources
Vantage no longer has a limit on the number of resources that belong to a group.
Vantage Dialogs cannot be run from root user
The Vantage dialogs can no longer be executed by the root login.
Vantage now uses motif on Linux
Vantage uses open motif libraries on the Linux platform.
Vantage monitoring started through .rc system
Vantage monitoring can be started/re-started automatically through the rc system of the Vantage host. Refer to Starting Vantage Through the .rc System for more information.
Vantage remote access defined by group
Remote access can now be defined using group names and access can be specified as read, write, exclusive and vanmgr. Refer to Modifying Remote Users Files , for more information.
Vantage now supported on Linux version 6.2
Vantage now works on the Linux 6.2 operating system.
Improvements to Existing Features
Administrative Dialogs
Only one instance of the administrative dialogs is allowed.
Resource Definition Dialog
When a resource is deleted it is also deleted from the Remote Access list.
Launch Status Manager Dialog
The Launch/Status Manager now uses fewer network packets, improving performance.
